Spirit Garden Plant & Tea Party October 17 | 11am-2pm

Want to be a part of our on-going restoration efforts in the Spirit Garden? Come to our Plant & Tea Party as we welcome in new native plant food-medicines to the space and complete seasonal stewardship activities.

Experienced Indigenous harvesters will share personal stories and cultural protocol pertaining to responsible harvesting and stewardship, as well as touch on the impacts of climate change in relation to the availability of traditional foods.

Participants can learn about Indigenous food sovereignty and stewardship, plant identification, Indigenous sustainability values, and the making of traditional teas. Indigenous language revitalization will be promoted through the sharing of ancestral names for plants and places.

Lunch, drinks, and tastings of traditional foods will be provided. This event is sponsored by I-SPARC and prioritizes Indigenous students and employees.

Please register in advance as space is limited. No fee required.
