You are invited to participate in a employee focus group as part of an applied research project led by the Mir Centre for Peace and Selkirk Innovates. We want to learn about employee experiences talking about – or not being able to talk about – controversial topics on campus. Is polarization affecting your work? Do you have questions, ideas or perspectives that you hesitate to share because they may be misunderstood or misrepresented? Do you wish for more genuine curiosity, complexity, and nuance in discussions? The focus group involves a small group of participants (all employees) coming together to have an open and confidential conversation with a researcher. It will take about 90 minutes, and it costs nothing. If you can’t join us in person, we will also do focus groups online. We’ll also tell you about future opportunities to develop valuable skills and to practice having constructive dialogue around hot topics in a safe(ish) space with the guidance of a facilitator. We’d love to hear what YOU think! https://selkirk.ca/research-innovation/social-innovation-lab/courageous-dialogues-moving-beyond-polarization
