Selkirk College Saints Golf Camp Sponsorship Bursary Application

Selkirk College recognizes that the cost of participating in organized sports can be a financial challenge and barrier to some families. Thanks to the generous support from many community donations, in memory of Laurie Palibroda and Kootenay Savings Credit Union, youth from the West Kootenay area are eligible to apply for support towards the costs of attending the Selkirk College Saints Golf Camp registration.

PLEASE READ THE ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES BEFORE STARTING THE APPLICATION:

General Eligibility - applicants are required to meet all of the following criteria:

• An athlete must be be between the ages of 7–17 years;
• Must be a permanent resident of the West Kootenay region;
• have an identified interest in golf;
• have demonstrated financial need*

Demonstrated Financial Need:

• Applications must include proof of financial need. A clear, legible, and most current copy of your Canada Child Benefit (CCB) statement will be required as proof of need including the following information: Parent Name, Family Net Income, Marital Status, Child First Names.

Under exceptional circumstances (e.g., recent immigrants to Canada, individuals fleeing spousal abuse, etc.) alternative confirmation of eligibility will be accepted on a case-by-case basis.

*The assessment process considers family resources against the standard of living costs based on the Moderate Standard of Living Allowance.

Application deadline for this bursary is May 15, 2024. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Late applicants will only be accepted if no qualified recipient has been selected.

Applicants will be notified if they will receive a sponsorship bursary prior to June 1, 2024.

Award value: up to the full value of the basic registration fees, not including the optional meal plan.
